How to Mass Delete Emails
Posted on November 17, 2018

I get a couple hundred email a day, and if I don’t stay on top of things it adds up quickly. Sometimes I end up having to delete several thousand unread emails at once because I simply can’t get through them all. It’s actually really easy to mass delete emails in Gmail, though some sites make it seem more complicated than it actually is. Click the down arrow in the search box and set the search from All Mail to Unread Mail and press search.

It will then list all the unread emails in your account. Now you just click the checkbox to select all the email on the page. At the top a black box will say All X conversations on this page are selected. Select all X conversations that match this search. Once you select that and press delete Gmail show a confirmation pop-up. Press ok and Gmail will begin to remove all unread email from your account. How long it takes depends on how many unread emails you have, but it most likely won’t be more than a few seconds. If you want to mass delete any other email like spam, sent mail, or even your entire inbox, just set the All Mail search term to whatever category you want.
